To be smart or not smart. That is the question.

Well, as I eat snake in the office from the mundane workload I have, to read Holly Jean's blog post on smart girls; I figured, why not I write my thoughts about it. While being committed to Ray for almost a year, it is actually quite true to the fact that guys prefer "dumber" girls.

There have been incidents when Ray actually teased my bimbo antics. Ok. I may not be a straight As student or some protégé. But in my defense of intellect, I do have my street-smarts. Ok. I do admit, I wasn't all so bright about sarcasm when I was a younger girl. To a certain extent, I was pretty oblivious about my surroundings too. But strangely so, during those times I was hardly ever hit on or wooed. I suppose there's a fine line of how much intelligence a girl should actually reflect in her daily mannerisms.

I think its a double-edged sword for a girl to be intelligent. Consider this. If a girl were to be seriously dumb, perhaps think a certain star that decided tuna was chicken; you'll probably would go crazy just laughing your head off to the silly comments she gives or something on a much annoying note: it would be much harder for you to discuss your problems with. After all, you know she won't be able to comprehend the complexity of whichever problem you're experiencing.

Well, in my opinion, I think a partner should be able to provide emotional support to a rather intense level. (Seriously, pun so not intended.) Well, actually girls should all be smart but tone the intelligence down a few notches. I have always thought that women are the mastermind of men. Like that saying : "每个成功男人背后,有个聪明的女人". Loosely translated: There's a smart woman supporting a successful man.

I remembered my Five Stars stint. It's a family business, so naturally the lady boss is involved with the HR side of the business. Seriously, although I somewhat dislike her, she is actually really smart. She's rather manipulative and will get what she wants. That I salute her. Other than that, you get my gist.

So girls, be smart but not in-your-face smart. Pretend to be dumb if you have to. But always remember the ultimate game plan you have.

Well, that sums up the first post of 2011! Bangkok day 2 coming right up!

2010.

In another few days, 2010 will be over. Like over over. While I'm having Grey's marathons, enjoying my extended holiday and sucking on my Chupa Chupa, I reflecting on my 2010. Well, how apt life can get when I have just finished the last episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 5. If you know what's that episode about, you'll agree.

Life's too short. And 2010's ending in another 3 more days. Let's go all morbid and suggest that the world's ending in 3 days, have you told the people that matter you care and love them? I supposed I have. Marilyn, Zulia, Jiemei, Elaine, my family and my awesome friends.

2010 was a year of ups and serious downs for me. I'm not going to go all secretive about how my ex-boyfriend somewhat made me a 3rd party, which he did. And that's a story for another time. I realized the gift of awesome friends that stood by me during those turbulent times. I suppose then the Pandora's Box was right. Amidst all the calamity, hope will be there to grace us.

2011 is going to be another awesome year. I'm going to usher it in with my sister and friends. Enjoy a late Christmas with the girls. And seriously live life! So goodbye 2010.

2011 resolutions.

Anyhow, I'm back on the singles' wagon. Apparently, my writes have led to a disaster to him. So right now, my aftermath emotions are high on pissing mode. So just let it be.

2011 will be here in another 2+ weeks. Which means I'll be getting a new phone too! Hello Bold 3 (or Onyx 2 9780) Ok, not much design changes from the predecessor - Onyx 9700. But it has way much better functions. Pretty much the Torch in a smaller shell.

Wokay. Resolutions for 2011. Apart from the usual weight loss and finances increase, next year I have a few new practical ones.
  • Study harder. Too much drama this year. Grades have slipped. So 2011, I need to pull my socks and get As!
  • No dating. Or rather, I'm pushing guys away until school's over. Yes, I may have a lot of free time, but guys, please don't try your luck. Once bitten, twice shy (until 2011's over).
  • Learn how to speak French. Hahahahaha.
  • Driving. Been talking about it way too much this year but no action was taken. I'm ashamed of my NATO-ness.
Guess that's the resolution list for 2011. Simple and short.

Full circle.

Somethings do come full circle. Yes. I know its not very right to count my chickens before they hatch. But I have to argue that with happiness shinning on, it's hard to deny the thought of planning ahead. I bet he would have a slight trace of future planning too. Marriage, kids, families...

After being apart from him for about 2 months, I have come to appreciate whatever that appears on my plate. It was not easy trying to move on from him. I guess, it's just me putting in all my bets. I'm not apologetic for my decision. Life's just too short to hold back. Nike's a really smart company. No wonder, even though their shoes aren't the best, they still make so much annually.

Of course I would be trying not to make the same mistakes as before. This time I'll learn how to savor the moments we share. No more gulping down the romance like a shot of tequila. Instead, I'll enjoy it like a great glass of french white wine. :)
